Authentic E-saan dishes with top quality ingredients await to spice up

your day at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park

The magic of northeastern Thai (E-saan) cuisine

has always delighted people and that’s why Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park’s Siam Tea Room will add favorite E-saan dishes such as Somtam Pla Ra, fried frog legs with garlic, Laab Ped Udorn” or spicy minced duck salad and “Kaeng Om Nua” or spicy slow- cooked beef brisket soup as additional dishesto its flavorful menu from 1 February – 31 March 2020 from 11.00 hrs. – 23.00 hrs.

“Nam Prik Pla-Ra” or spicy fermented fish dip is served with charcoal-grilled catfish, half- cooked egg and a basket of fresh organic vegetables at 266++ baht per set. Those who love “pla ra” or fermented fish are not to miss the authentic “Som Tam Pla-Ra” with E-saan wild tomatoes and white popinac, which is served with crispy pork rinds, boiled eggs and steamed sticky rice, available at 195++ baht per set.

“Ka Kob Tod Kratiem” or fried frog legs with garlic, a rare yet authentic E-saan dish, is specially prepared and marinated in garlic, pepper and coriander roots, and deep-fried until they are golden brown yet still juicy inside. This special dish is available at 475++ baht.

“Laab Ped Udorn” or spicy minced duck salad is served with crispy deep-fried duck skin at 275++ baht. Another pride of E-saan dishes is “Kor Moo Yang, Jaew Bong” or charcoal- grilled pork shoulder with Luang Prabang-style spicy sauce and steamed sticky rice set comes at 310++ baht.

If you are in for soup, “Kaeng Om Nua” or spicy slow-cooked beef brisket soup, is highly recommended. Beef is slowly cooked until it is ready to melt in the mouth, then seasoned with herbs, roasted rice and dill. This dish is priced at 395++ baht. After all the spicy hot dishes, it is a good idea to complete the meal with “Ice Cream Nahm Oy”, the snowy ice cream made from fresh sugar cane syrup and served with crispy rice to provide fun texture.

The ice cream is 190++ baht.
