Joana is a highly accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, digital and tech industry. She is an investor, strategist, problem-solver and executor known for her ability to lead and manage teams and drive growth in various sectors of the industry.
Joana began her career in marketing and advertising and later transitioned into the hospitality and travel technology space, where she gained extensive experience in HR, operations, sales, marketing, and customer experience. She has held various senior leadership positions and has a proven track record of success, having helped a travel startup grow from 12M to 150M in just 5 years.
With a focus on leadership and people development, change management, digital transformation, organisational design, and creating sustainable, values-led, and data-driven companies, Joana shares her expertise with business owners to help them solve organisational issues, execute ideas, and future-proof their organisations.
She serves as the Director and COO of Move Ahead Media, a full-service digital marketing agency and is a Co-Founder and Executive Director of Simple Scalable Solutions, a technology company investing in emerging technologies as well as helping startups and SMEs to grow and scale.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Joana is also passionate about giving back and helping others through her CSR work and is actively involved in the Australian and Thai communities sitting on a number of committees with AustCham Thailand. She also serves as Co-Chair of Travel Daily's Inspiring Women in Travel Asia and is dedicated to mentoring up-and-coming servant leaders in the HR, travel, digital, and technology space, in her spare time.
