The new Excise Act has been announced in the Royal Gazette on 20 March 2017 and will be effective on 16 September 2017 which is less than 100 days to come. The main changes of the new Excise Act covers changes of tax structure including tax rate. The new calculation will be on RRSP (recommended retail sell price) instead of CIF price for import goods or ex-factory price for goods manufactured locally. The report system has been changed to reflect such calculation. In order to be able to comply with such changes and to reflect back the issues of the business operators to the Excise Department, the Customs and Excise Committee would like to invite all AMCHAM member to join the seminar on the new Excise Act.
Deputy of Minister of Finance, Wisutr Srisuphan will open the seminar, and Khun Nuttakorn Uthensutr, Director of Tax Planning, Excise Department will speak on the new Excise Act. We will also have representatives from automotive, alcohol and non-alcohol companies to be panelists to discuss about perspective of the business and questions and answer session.
