This panel follows on from the successful similar one we had a year ago at the same venue when we had good interaction between the hotel/tourism and marine industries.

The subject this year will be “The Expectations of the Phuket Hotel and Tourism industries from the Phuket marine industry, and vice versa”.

Speakers:

  • Zara Tremlett, ex GM of Yacht Haven Marina and member of Phuket Go Boating group -  general overview of the Phuket marina and marine industry - boat charterers, weather forecasts/storm warnings, boat standards, charter guest expectations, charter guest qualifications to charter a boat, charter boat operator crew qualifications etc.
  • Ian Lancaster, retired international insurance broker living in Phuket and major shareholder of MV Olympia a luxury charter boat based at Ao Po marina - general overview of his observations as a boat charterer in Phuket, and reference to Phuket marine insurance issues.
  • Scott Duncanson; Commodore of Phuket Yacht Club and GM of ISS Facility Services Thailand - general observations of the marine industry in Chalong Bay and how it could be improved. Can give reference to the PYC Sailing School and other sail training companies in Phuket, i.e. Yacht Pro and Sail in Asia, and Gallileo at Yacht Haven.
  • Lyndon Ellis; GM, Anantara Vacation Club - Expectations of the hotel industry from Phuket guests who go on boat trips, and the current image guests have of Phuket’s marine environment, and any perceived safety issues they may have.
