24 & 25 APR - ANZAC Day Tour 2021 [CANCELLED]

*Due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to cancel the ANZAC Day Tour this year; noting that the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre is closed indefinitely. We have not made this decision lightly, as we were looking at having close to 100 people from the Australian and New Zealand Thai Communities come together to lay wreaths on Anzac morning; a sign of what wonderful communities we have here in Thailand. However, in the end, we need to put the health and safety of the community first.

Once again, it’s disappointing that we need to cancel this year, but look forward to being able to go up there for ANZAC Day 2022.*

The Advance Australia Council together with the New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce and New Zealand Society invites the Australian and New Zealand communities in Thailand to join us for this year’s ANZAC Day tour to Hellfire Pass.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will not be any official services at Kanchanaburi this year, but we will be visiting Hellfire Pass on ANZAC Day (Sunday 25^th April) to lay wreaths in honour of our service men and women.

The following is the itinerary for the tour:

• Saturday 24^th April 2021
  • 09.30    Depart AustCham office, Glowfish Sathorn Bangkok
  • 12.00    ANZAC Day Commemorative Australian Football Match at Visuttharangsi School, Kanchanaburi *Option to travel straight to resort or tour town
  • 13.30    Travel to resort
  • 15.00    Check-in to Home Phutoey River Kwai resort
  • 18.00    Dinner at the resort
• Sunday 25^th April 2021
  • 08.45    Depart resort for Hellfire Pass
  • 09.00    Visit Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre; option to lay wreath in cutting available
  • 10.30    Travel to Kanchanaburi town to visit War Cemetery
  • 12.30    Lunch (option to take photos at Bridge Over River Kwai)
  • 14.00    Return to Bangkok (arrive 17.30 approx.)
