AustCham Singapore, in partnership with AustCham Thailand, AusCham Cambodia, Indonesia Australia Business Council, AustCham Lao, Malaysia-Australia Business Council, AustCham Myanmar, ANZCHAM Philippines and AusCham Vietnam invite members and guests to attend this webinar on Australian Residency Changes & Tax Implications for Expats on Friday 21 May 2021, 15.00 - 16.00 hrs (BKK).
The recent Australian federal budget included some proposed changes to how tax residency will be determined for Australian's living overseas. Under the new proposal, if you spend more than 44 days in Australia per year and meet one other criteria from a new list (including owning property back home) you could be taxed as a resident.
AustCham Singapore will be running a free webinar to discuss these changes, how they could affect you and what they mean for Australian business, and welcome all Chambers in region to participate.
Emma Connors from the Australian Financial Review will interview Tristan Perry, Chamber Honorary Secretary and head of tax Australia for Select Investors Australia. This will be followed by a Q&A - your chance to find out more about the proposal, ask any questions and share what impact this could have on the way you operate in the Australian market.
We are also conducting a survey to understand more about how these changes could impact our members. It will just take a moment of your time and will help inform our advocacy efforts.
