THE BIG BLUE
It’s big. It’s blue. It’s the BlueScope 2013 AustCham Ball and it celebrates all the blue in common between Australia and Thailand. After all, there’s a lot of it! Our countries are both skirted by sparkling blue waters that lap against stunning beaches. We both prominently feature blue in our national flags. Australia is famous for blue diamonds; Thailand for blue sapphires. Australia has the blue-tongued lizard, blue-ringed octopus and blue-healer dog. Thailand has the deadly blue krait snake, blue-bearded bee-eater, and… the blue elephant. And of course, there are the Blue Mountains and the Blue Canyon.

Either way, show you are true-blue about Australia and Thailand. Don your most sophisticated blue gown, blue tuxedo (ok, black will do), or showcase your blue-inspired creative-wear and join us for an evening of sophistication (opening with an exclusive Chandon sparkling wine reception), entertainment, top-quality food and wine and lots of fun with your great Aussie mates.

As is tradition there will be lots of prizes to win.  Our community services raffle will this year support the Beaumont Ruam Pattana School in

Menu and program of events
The AustCham ball is renowned for being a great night out with friends and providing the best value in town.  This year will be no exception.

The evening will begin with a champagne reception featuring Chandon sparkling wine, blue-inspired cocktails and Grant Hyatt canapes. Guests will then be invited to partake in a four course gourmet meal of:
  • Ceviche of Australian Kingfish entree (Organic Vine Tomato vegetarian option)
  • Choice of Pan-fried Baby Barramundi or Noisette of Lamb Loin main meal (Mushroom and Truffle Risotto for a vegetarian option)
  • Passion Fruit Pavlova dessert, and
  • King Island Cheese plate.
Exciting entertainment is planned before the real celebration gets underway with the acclaimed 'Boss Band' playing your Australian favourites (feel free to request!).

Drinks will of course flow throughout the night.
