"A Lord Mayor’s Perspectives and Experiences as Perth Transforms into a City of the Future"
AustCham, together with the Professional Women's Group, Australian-New Zealand Women's Group Bangkok (ANZWG) and AustralianAlumni, are pleased to invite members and friends to a special evening presentation by Lisa Scaffidi, the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of the City of Perth in Western Australia. Ms Scaffidi has an inspiring personality and will share the story of how Perth is transforming into a city of the future. She will also reflect on her personal journey and the challenges and experiences she has faced as both a leader and professional woman at the very top of her field and also the first woman to be elected to the position of Lord Mayor of Perth.
Ms Scaffidi was recently runner-up in the prestigious World Mayors Award and the only woman finalist. She champions the need for extensive public engagement and community consultation as the basis for creating a positive values based and socially harmonious society.
Following her presentation, Ms Scaffidi will join us for cocktails and networking courtesy of the prestigious St Regis hotel.

The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of Perth
The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor Ms Lisa Scaffidi is 17th Lord Mayor of the City of Perth. Ms Scaffidi has served as the Lord Mayor since October 2007 and was re-elected again for a second term of four years on 15 October 2011. Ms Scaffidi served as a Councillor for seven years from 2000 and is the first woman to have been elected to the position of Lord Mayor.
The Lord Mayor is Perth born and educated and is known for her keen focus on the city’s economic development and is pro-development. She also has a career history in the hospitality industry, marketing and convention management and property development experience.
Lisa was first runner up in the 2012 World Mayor Award and was honoured to be the only woman finalist in the final ten commended in this highly coveted Award out of hundreds of Mayors globally.
Ms Scaffidi is passionate about ensuring Perth grows and develops as a vibrant and dynamic globally connected City of regional and international significance, while retaining its unique, natural beauty and its reputation as one of the world's most liveable cities.
