AustCham is pleased to welcome members and friends to the first Australian Business Forum (ABF) presentation in Phuket.

The ABF is a new Chamber initiative, supported by the Australian Government. It facilitates business discussions, networking and knowledge-sharing.  For more information on the concept please click here.

For our inaugural Phuket ABF presentation we are pleased to present two top-profile presenters:

  • Brenton Mauriello, CEO of dwp. Speaking from his perspective as an Australian CEO of a world-leading design firm, Brenton will share his 19 years of experience in Thailand.  He will also comment on Thailand's creative industries more broadly and - given that dwp is known in particular for its experience in hotel design - the latest trends in hotel interior design.  In fact, dwp has recently leveraged its experiences in hotels to form a strategic collaboration with Australian firm Suters Architects - now known as dwp|Suters. The collaboration has enabled Suters to steal hotel design work in Australia, while the tie-up allows both companies to offer one-stop integrated design services throughout Asia and the Middle East.
  • Ben Giles, Trade Commissioner of Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). Ben will provide an update on Austrade priorities and its role in promoting and supporting Australian business.  Now based at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, Ben's career in international business began in 1993 when he moved to Jakarta to work for an Indonesian law firm as a foreign investment consultant. Upon his return to Australia in 1999, Ben worked in international sales with Sydney manufacturing company Macnaught and successfully completed his MCom in International Business from the University of New South Wales, before joining Austrade in 2004. In that time he has had client facing and trade policy roles in Sydney, Jakarta, and Canberra, and commenced his role as Trade Commissioner in Bangkok in May 2013.
